Beef Stroganoff

I made this easy recipe two weeks ago for one of my photo shoots. It’s so easy to prepare and I loved using fresh Shiitake mushrooms for that extra full beefy flavor!

3 tablespoons Butter

250g Sirloin or Tenderloin, cut into thin strips

1 piece Onion, diced

5 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced (this is optional but I love garlic)

1/2 cup fresh Shiitake mushrooms (or button mushrooms), sliced

1/2 cup Cream

1/2 cup Sour Cream

Salt and Pepper

Season beef strips with salt and pepper. Quickly brown beef in a very hot pan with 2 tablespoons butter. Remove beef from pan and set aside. Lower heat and add remaining butter in pan. Saute onions and garlic. Add mushrooms and cook for a about 4 more minutes. Pour cream and sour cream taking care not to bring them to a boil. Lower heat and thin with a bit of water if necessary. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve immediately over fettuccine pasta or freshly made mashed potatoes.
